What is Fair Trade?
At Boston Tea Company, we are proud to help play a crucial role in supporting small farms in developing countries, such as South Africa. With certification under the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International, or FLO, we give back to the people in this region who harvest our tea by paying these workers in a way that allows them to make an ongoing livelihood and build for a better future.
The Boston Tea Company and our tea farmers in South Africa are in a partnership that jointly supports development objectives set by FLO. As a business, we invest in small tea-farming organizations there to enable us to sell quality tea and generate revenues that assist these farmers with creating stronger economic, social, and environmental climates for themselves and for their families.
Boston Tea Company’s Rooibos or red tea is FLO certified. The FLO certification label on our products can be recognized by the logo pictured above.
